National Consultation on SCs & STs (PoA) Act, 1989 and Tribal Sub Plan, 26-27 March '11, New Delhi
A two-day consultation was jointly organized by NCDHR, Indian Confederation of Indigenous and Tribal People and National Coalition for Strengthening SCs & STs (PoA) Act (NCSPA). The objective was to strengthen the SCs & STs (PoA) Act and Tribal Sub Plan.
The consultation had presence of the Hon’ble Cabinet Minister in the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Mr. Mukul Wasnik, and other respectable members were Mr. P. S. Krishnan and Prof. Ramdayal Munda, Rajya Sabha MP, and Ms. Vasavi Kiro, the Member of the Jharkhand Commission for Women.
More than 150 activists mainly from tribal peoples’ movements and organizations participated, and deliberated on their experience with implementation of the Act as well as Tribal Sub Plan.
